Pennsylvania
Overall Pennsylvania Marijuana Laws seem to be about 50% there. While the state does offer Medical Marijuana there is no prospect for home grow and none so far for Personal or Recreational use. See below to gather more specific details about PA Cannabis Laws.
As of February 13th 2024, the governor, Josh Shapiro has determined personal use (aka Recreational) marijuana needs to be legalized in Pennsylvania as the state is losing significant money and it's available in nearly EVERY bordering state. Glad we have progressive and thoughtful governor.
Pennsylvania's approach to marijuana laws is akin to a Philly cheesesteak sandwich—complicated and messy, but somehow beloved by many. Initially, the state treated marijuana possession with the same enthusiasm as a Steelers fan treats a Ravens supporter. However, in a twist as unexpected as finding parking in downtown Philly, Pennsylvania warmed up to medical marijuana in 2016, rolling out the green carpet for those with a doctor's note faster than one can say "Wawa hoagie." Recreational use remains a party foul, though, putting users in a pickle as if caught wearing a Cowboys jersey at an Eagles game. So, while you can't legally light up for fun, Pennsylvania has shown it's willing to pass the joint, albeit strictly for health reasons, proving that even in the land of Liberty Bells and Amish buggies, change is possible—if a bit slower than rush hour on the Schuylkill Expressway.
